A maximum of two adult animals of comparable size (maximum 14kg each), that are used to co-habiting, may be shipped in the same container. Animals exceeding this weight must travel individually.
A maximum quantity of three animals, up to six months old, from the same litter, can be shipped in the same container.

Measurements A, B, C and D for the largest animal should be
used to determine the container dimensions. The width of the container
is calculated as follows: for two animals, C x 3; for three animals,
C x 4. The cage size you require is: - |
The correct size of a container is essential. It must protect the animal
during transport, be secure and have sufficient ventilation. If you
do not meet the following requirements, British Airways World Cargo
may refuse travel for your pet.
Container must be large enough for the pet to stand up, turn around
and lie down in a natural manner. Your pet will be in the container
for some time, therefore, it should be as comfortable as possible.
Container must be strong enough to protect the pet during transport,
be secure enough to contain it and have sufficient ventilation on all
four sides to ensure the air quality in the container will not deteriorate.
The door must be secured in such a manner that it will not open accidentally
or your pet cannot open it during handling and transport.
Your pet's nose and paws should not be able to fit through any ventilation
opening or door mesh.
The container must have a water pot and food container accessible from
outside.
The container should be constructed out of rigid plastic, wood, or a
material of comparable strength. Fibreboard or wiremesh containers are
not suitable for air transportation.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) Live Animals Regulations
contains detailed instructions on container constructions as well as
the size and stocking densities.
Most pet stores and kennels sell containers or they can be made to measure to meet IATA specifications.
Use the Vari kennels for transporting your pet overseas or for use
in the car or at home. Vari-Kennels are recommended by experts the world
over. The standard Vari-Kennel combines value with features such as
heavy duty plastic shells, a sturdy wire mesh door, side ventilation
grills, plastic wing-nuts that won't corrode and a water bowl that clips
into the wire mesh door.
They meet Airline requirements - IATA 91/628/EEC and have a five year
manufacturer's warranty.
Please make note of the pet carrier details/dimensions before you order
and then confirm with the Airline you are travelling with that it meets
with their requirements for the size of your pet. Each Airline will
have slightly differing requirements but as a general rule your pet
must be able to stand up and turn around in the carrier. Failure to
comply with individual Airline specifications could result in the Airline
refusing to allow your pet to fly.
